William (Bill) Hutchison

Mr. Hutchison was the former global chairman of telecommunications industry for Ernst & Young. He has more than 30 years of knowledge and experience in restructuring practices. At E&Y, Mr. Hutchison was responsible for expanding IT consulting and integration operations, which resulted in advancing E&Y’s ranking from 30th place to 2nd. He has built and rebuilt companies around the world. Some of Mr. Hutchison’s career highlights include tripling Arthur Andersen’s Asia/Pacific media, telecom and technology practices to $160 million within 3 years; restructuring Consolidated Computer’s business operations and returning it to profitability with a five-fold increase in revenue; and expanding Quorum Growth International’s Singapore operations, which became the gateway for Canadian technology products for the entire Asia/Pacific region.
Hailed as a pioneer, Mr. Hutchison helped build Canada’s technology infrastructure. Under the prime minister of Canada, he was the founding vice chairman of the National Advisory Board for Science and Technology and the founding chairman of CANARIE Inc., which led the development of Canada’s advanced Internet research and education infrastructure. In 2006, Mr. Hutchison received the Lifetime Achievement Award presented from the World Intelligent Community Forum and was elected a Fellow of the Canadian Information Processing Society.
